Czochralski crystal growth method is the method that is used to produce the majority of commercially available single crystals. This method yields fairly large crystals with low defect concentrations and is especially suited to oxide crystal growth.
CZ crystal growth in OSICO is mainly focused on growth of YAG series crystals, Vanadate crystals for laser and general optics applications.
The crystal starting materials and dopant are melted in Iridium or platinum crucible that is heated by induction and the crystal is grown under precise control. Depending on crystal size, from one to eight weeks are required to complete the growth cycle. Once the growth process is completed, the crystal is slowly cooled to reduce the possibility of damage from high thermal stresses.
OSICO continues to develop the growth process to produce larger oxide crystals with lower as-grown stress and higher optical uniformity.
Contract crystal growth is always welcomed. Our experience of successful R&D in the single crystal growth field with continuously innovative CZ and Flux methods, enables us to offer a wide variety of single crystals with the customer¡¯s defined chemical compositions.
