Vanadate Series Laser Crystals

Neodymium doped Yttrium Vanadate (Nd:YVO4) is one of the most promising commercially available diode pumped solid state laser materials. Comparing with Nd:YAG, its 5 times larger absorption coefficient in a broader band centered at 807nm and favorable mechanical properties make Nd:YVO4 well suited for compact, efficient, high power diode-pumped lasers. Its natural birefringence gives rise to a highly polarized output at 1064nm and 1342nm.

Neodymium doped Gadolinium Vanadate (Nd:GdVO4) is an improved laser material based on Nd:YVO4. Besides the advantages of Nd:YVO4, Nd:GdVO4 exhibits much higher thermal conductivity and optical conversion efficiency.
